We don't wait for students to become leaders someday — we give them opportunities to lead today. Through student elections, the Student Cabinet, clubs and our four-house system, students receive meaningful opportunities to experience leadership during their school years.
Every leader begins by taking the first step. Students interested in leadership positions participate in the school election process, communicate with their peers and seek their support.
As part of our student leadership programme, SLS conducts its school elections through a digital voting system. Students experience voting in a structured environment while learning that every vote represents a choice and every choice carries responsibility.

After elections, our student representatives formally assume their responsibilities through the Student Cabinet Installation Ceremony. In the presence of the school community, elected leaders take their oath and commit themselves to carrying out their responsibilities with integrity, discipline and respect.

Not every child will become SPL. Not every child will become a House Captain. And that is okay. At SLS, leadership isn't limited to elected positions — a student leads when they help a classmate, take responsibility for a task, represent their house, stand confidently on stage, organise an activity, care for the environment, encourage a teammate, accept a mistake, or choose what is right even when nobody is watching.
A badge recognises a leader. Character creates one.
Leadership should never belong to only one type of student. We encourage students to step forward, communicate their ideas, participate and take responsibility based on their abilities and willingness to contribute — because confidence grows when children are given opportunities to use it.
Leadership isn't a one-day ceremony. It's a year-long responsibility.
Maybe this year you are casting your vote. Next year, you might be asking for one. Maybe today you are watching someone speak on stage. Tomorrow, that microphone might be in your hands. Maybe right now you aren't sure whether you can lead — that's why opportunities matter.

The world ahead will require young people who can communicate, collaborate, make decisions, accept responsibility and lead with empathy. We believe those abilities should not suddenly be expected after school — they should be developed during school.
